What is the path to God?

Accept me as I am, Oh Lord!

Jesus answered, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee,

Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 3:16 (KJV)

This was Jesus’ reply to Nicodemus, who was a Pharisee (Jewish religious leaders, who were jealous and wanted to get rid of Jesus) and member of the ruling council.  Nicodemus came to seek out Jesus in the middle of the night to ask him some questions.  And Jesus punctuated the importance of his response by preceding it with the phrase, “Verily, verily”, which is like a teacher saying to the class, “Pay special attention, this is going to be on the exam!”  Basically, Jesus was telling him the way to heaven, …the secret to eternal life.
